Rogers VFT tapes are polyurethane-foam-core adhesive tapes used in electronic assemblies. Rogers describes applications such as attaching display cover glass and touch screens, where a thin bond line may also need cushioning and resistance to mechanical movement.
The name refers to an engineered tape product. It does not refer to historical audio recordings by television presenter Fred Rogers. The earlier biographical narrative did not describe the manufacturer’s VFT material and has been removed.
For an assembly, review the specific tape construction, total thickness and surfaces being bonded. Impact behavior, creep and compression set can matter where a screen or cover must remain located over time. Adhesion also depends on substrate finish, cleanliness and the applied bonding process.
Rework needs should be considered together with retention requirements; a general statement about reworkability does not guarantee damage-free removal from every surface. Evaluate the tape in the actual display assembly, including edge geometry, mounting constraints and the intended environmental exposure.

Select the exact grade and thickness against the application requirements, then review the current technical data and processing instructions. Material test results describe particular specimens and conditions; they do not establish the performance or approval status of every finished assembly.
