QUALITY / EVIDENCE YOU CAN REVIEW

Define acceptance.
Verify the build.

A dependable RF board starts with an agreed specification and ends with relevant inspection and test evidence. Review the construction, material identity and acceptance plan before production release.

Quality controls throughout the build

  1. File and specification review

Review the revision, stackup, edge clearances, drill features, copper geometry and impedance requirements. Resolve engineering questions before releasing the build.

  2. Material and process control

Match the laminate and copper to the approved construction. The shared operation documents incoming checks and control of imaging, plating, etching and other manufacturing stages.

  3. Inspection and agreed testing

Use visual, electrical and construction checks for their intended purposes. Agree additional RF measurements and documentation before ordering.

The shared factory’s published quality process describes ISO 9001 management, file review, material control, AOI and electrical testing. Request the current certificate scope and the evidence relevant to your order.

Choose evidence that answers your risk

EvidenceWhat it helps establishWhat to specify
Material identificationThe named laminate, foil and approved constructionManufacturer, grade, lot information and substitution restrictions
Electrical testConnectivity and isolation against the agreed dataNetlist/revision, method and report requirement
Microsection / construction checkDielectric and copper structure, plated-hole detailsSample features, locations, dimensions and acceptance limits
Impedance / TDRCoupon or specified transmission-line impedanceLine geometry, target, tolerance, fixture and reference method
RF characterizationInsertion loss, return loss or phase for a defined structureFrequency band, reference planes, fixtures and acceptance limits
PCBA inspection and functionAssembly condition and the specified electrical functionBOM revision, assembly criteria, test procedure and fixtures
A continuity pass does not establish RF insertion loss. An impedance report does not establish antenna efficiency. Select the measurement that addresses the performance requirement.

Real manufacturing and laboratory context

Images are from the shared RFPCB / PCBSync facility archive. Equipment photographs support a factory overview; the agreed test procedure and report establish the evidence for an individual build.

Supplier qualification without ambiguity

Management-system certificates

For ISO 9001 or a sector-specific requirement, request the current certificate, legal entity, facility address, scope, issuer and expiry. A capability statement or website badge is not a substitute for a scoped certificate.

Product and acceptance standards

Specify the applicable IPC document, revision and acceptance class in the RFQ. IPC acceptance requirements, UL recognition and material compliance declarations are different types of evidence.

Automotive, medical or aerospace projects

Identify customer flow-downs and required certifications before ordering. Confirm whether the exact site, process and supplied product are within the required qualification scope.

Controlled documentation

Agree the certificate of conformity, material records, inspection reports and any special data-retention requirements. Request an anonymized sample report to check that the format meets your review needs.

Prepare a quality documentation request

Select what is ready. This checklist runs locally and does not upload files or place an order.

If a delivered board raises a concern

Contact the team with the order reference, board revision, affected quantity, photographs and measured results. Include the acceptance criterion and measurement conditions so the investigation addresses the same requirement that was agreed for the build.

Preserve representative samples and identify any assembly or handling history relevant to the issue. Corrective action and commercial resolution should follow the order’s agreed terms and the investigation findings. Start a quality enquiry.

Make the acceptance plan part of the quote.

Tell us which reports, certificates, sample checks and RF measurements your project needs before production. That makes the evidence reviewable and the quotation comparable.
