Rogers TC600 is a thermally conductive high frequency laminate in the TC series. It uses a ceramic-filled PTFE system with woven glass reinforcement. Designers evaluate it for RF circuits where dielectric behavior and heat transfer both influence the substrate choice.
The product is a PCB material, not a dual-band Wi-Fi router. TC600 has a different dielectric specification from TC350. Replacing one with the other can change transmission-line dimensions and matching, even if both are being considered for thermal reasons.
Start with the current TC600 product data and an explicit dielectric thickness and copper construction. Identify the applicable dielectric test method and frequency before using a value in an electromagnetic model. For thermal analysis, include conductor layout, heat spreading, interfaces and the cooling arrangement. A laminate conductivity value does not by itself predict junction temperature, allowable RF power or the temperature rise of the complete circuit.
Selection and validation
Before releasing a board, record the exact material designation, dielectric thickness, copper foil, finished stackup and inspection requirements. Have the fabricator review the construction and confirm material availability. Prototype measurements should establish whether the finished circuit meets its electrical and environmental requirements.
