Rogers XRD Impact Protection Technology

Rogers XRD is a family of impact protection materials. The technology is used in cushioning and protective applications such as footwear and protective equipment. It is not an X-ray diffraction instrument or a laboratory technique supplied under the Rogers XRD product name.

Rogers describes flexible, lightweight material options that can be converted into shapes for a particular product. Thickness, density and construction are selection variables. They affect how a cushioning component fits and responds within a finished assembly.

Evaluate the expected impact conditions and the space available for the material. An isolated material result should not be treated as a certification of a helmet, garment, shoe or other finished protective product. Geometry, coverage, adjacent materials and the way the component is retained all influence the final outcome.

Use the current XRD product information to select candidate materials and establish a test plan for the intended application. Confirm any required performance standard at the finished-product level. Do not infer medical, sports or industrial protection approvals from the family name alone.

Selection and validation

Select the exact grade and thickness against the application requirements, then review the current technical data and processing instructions. Material test results describe particular specimens and conditions; they do not establish the performance or approval status of every finished assembly.
