R/bak SS is part of Rogers’ R/bak cushion mounting materials for flexographic printing. Rogers describes SS as a soft-modulus cushion for fine-line, multicolor process printing on corrugated substrates. Its role is in a printing plate mounting system.
What the cushion is used for
The R/bak family provides compressibility and cushioning beneath printing plates. Rogers associates the product family with improved ink transfer and registration, reduced dot gain and reduced plate deformation. The particular grade should be selected for the printing task and mounting arrangement.
For a material enquiry, identify the press, printed substrate, artwork type, required build-up thickness and existing mounting system. Ask the product supplier to confirm the suitable grade and installation guidance. Print quality should be assessed using trials under the intended press conditions.
Distinguish printing materials from circuit materials
R/bak SS is not an RF PCB substrate. A Rogers brand name alone does not establish that a material is suitable for circuit-board fabrication; the company supplies several distinct material families for different industries.
