R/bak SR 2000 is a Rogers series of cushion mounting tapes for flexographic printing. It includes SR 2100 and SR 2500, which provide different cushioning responses for different types of print work. The series is not a petroleum vapor-recovery unit.
Rogers describes SR 2100 as a softer open-cell urethane option for demanding process and combination printing. SR 2500 is firmer and is intended for solid and line work. The series also addresses plate positioning and removal as part of the mounting process.
Choose the specific grade rather than specifying only SR 2000. Consider the plate, carrier, artwork, corrugated substrate and required print result together. An adhesive or removal benefit should be checked on the actual surfaces under the intended mounting conditions.
When comparing an existing setup with a new tape, keep other press variables controlled so the effect of the cushion can be evaluated. Different compressibility or thickness can change the mounting arrangement and impression behavior; it should not be treated as an invisible substitution.
Selection and validation
Specify cushion thickness, carrier construction, adhesive arrangement, plate thickness and the press setup before ordering. Evaluate print quality through a controlled press trial using the intended ink and substrate. A change in cushion construction may require adjustments to mounting and impression settings.
