BISCO MF1 is a Rogers cellular silicone foam supplied in bun form. Here, bun means a block of foam from which suitable shapes or sections can be produced. It does not mean a hair bun, a wig accessory or a liquid molding kit for costumes.
Rogers offers MF1 in different firmness grades for cushioning applications. Rail seating is one documented use. The selection must balance the required cushioning response, geometry and the application environment rather than assuming every grade has the same behavior.
Review the exact grade, thickness and converting requirements. Firmness and compression characteristics affect how a cushion supports a load, while the surrounding structure determines how that load reaches the material. A sample evaluation in the intended assembly is more useful than selecting solely by the product-family name.
If a fire, smoke or other performance requirement applies, verify the relevant test result and conditions for the selected grade and construction. Material-level data should not be represented as blanket approval of an entire seat, vehicle or finished product.
Selection and validation
Select the exact grade and thickness against the application requirements, then review the current technical data and processing instructions. Material test results describe particular specimens and conditions; they do not establish the performance or approval status of every finished assembly.
