Rogers RO3200 Series Reinforced PTFE Laminates

Rogers RO3200 is a family of high frequency circuit laminates. The series combines ceramic-filled PTFE with woven fiberglass reinforcement and includes RO3203, RO3206 and RO3210. These are substrate materials for printed circuits, rather than spectrum analyzers or other measurement instruments.

The reinforcement improves mechanical rigidity and dimensional control. Relevant uses include microwave circuitry and antenna structures where electrical behavior must be considered together with board stability. Each grade has its own dielectric properties, so the series name alone is not a complete material specification.

Use the selected grade’s data sheet to distinguish process dielectric constant from the value used for circuit design. Check test frequency, copper surface and dielectric thickness when comparing loss or impedance. The RO3000/RO3200 fabrication guidance also matters: a reinforced PTFE construction still requires an appropriate drilling, hole preparation and metallization process.

Selection and validation

Before releasing a board, record the exact material designation, dielectric thickness, copper foil, finished stackup and inspection requirements. Have the fabricator review the construction and confirm material availability. Prototype measurements should establish whether the finished circuit meets its electrical and environmental requirements.
