Rogers AD350A is a ceramic-filled PTFE laminate reinforced with woven fiberglass. It is a microwave circuit material in the Rogers AD series, developed for applications where thermal expansion and heat management are important. The AD series originated at Arlon, which explains the older Arlon AD350A name found in drawings and material references.
Review the exact material specification
Identify AD350A explicitly on the fabrication drawing and use Rogers documentation for the required construction. Compare dielectric data with their frequency, measurement method and test conditions. For a replacement material, recheck the circuit model and manufacturing requirements rather than relying on a similar nominal dielectric constant.
Useful selection inputs include operating frequency, expected dissipation, dielectric thickness, copper construction and the proposed stackup. Board-level thermal performance requires assessment of the complete layout and heat-removal path.
Use a PTFE fabrication review
Rogers’ AD series fabrication guide specifies treatment of drilled PTFE surfaces before metallization. Confirm this process, the bonding system and inspection plan with the fabricator. Do not describe AD350A as a thermoset material that automatically follows an FR-4 process.
Read the focused AD350A PCB design guide for specification questions. The materials directory and PCB quote form provide the next steps for comparing materials and submitting project files.
