Rogers AD255C RF and Antenna Laminate

Rogers AD255C is a PTFE-based RF laminate containing selected ceramic filler and fiberglass reinforcement. Rogers positions it for microwave and RF circuits in telecommunications infrastructure, including antenna applications where dielectric loss, thermal expansion and passive intermodulation matter.

Material selection for antenna circuits

Assess AD255C against the needs of the complete circuit: operating band, allowable insertion loss, antenna dimensions and expected temperature range. Specify the full product designation and copper construction. A material with a similar nominal dielectric constant is not automatically interchangeable in an existing layout.

Keep the source and measurement conditions beside any dielectric value used in a simulation. Process dielectric constant and a value supplied for circuit design can differ. The released stackup should make clear which values and dielectric thicknesses support the impedance calculation.

Fabrication review

AD255C belongs to a PTFE material family. The manufacturer’s fabrication guide explains surface activation before hole metallization, along with other processing considerations. Confirm the fabricator’s proposed hole preparation and bonding approach for the actual layer structure.

Include board dimensions, finished copper, surface finish and acceptance criteria when requesting a review. Validate the assembled antenna or RF network against its own electrical targets before committing to a material substitution. Browse the RF materials guide or send project files through the PCB quote form.
