Rogers CuClad 250 is a woven-fiberglass/PTFE laminate for printed circuits. Within the CuClad family, it uses a higher proportion of fiberglass to improve dimensional stability and mechanical behavior. Its reinforced plies alternate orientation to balance properties in the board plane.
Match the grade to the design
The family is intended for microwave circuitry, including filters, couplers and amplifier circuits. CuClad 250 offers different dielectric constructions, so the product name alone is not a complete fabrication specification. Confirm the selected option with its current manufacturer documentation.
Record dielectric thickness, copper foil and applicable measurement conditions when building the circuit model. Do not assume that an epoxy laminate or another CuClad grade will produce the same impedance and insertion loss in an unchanged layout.
Review the manufacturing plan
Use the CuClad fabrication guidance to discuss PTFE processing, plated holes, bonding materials and handling with the fabricator. Agree inspection and electrical acceptance requirements for the finished board rather than treating typical material data as guaranteed board performance.
Provide the complete stackup and fabrication drawing with a PCB quote request. The materials directory offers a starting point for comparing other RF substrate families.
