ROLINX CapLink Solutions combine capacitors with Rogers laminated busbars. Rogers uses a soldering process to attach the capacitors to the busbar, creating an integrated assembly for DC-link power applications. CapLink is an electrical interconnect solution, not financial software or a data-integration platform.
Relevant applications include electric-vehicle powertrains, renewable-energy inverters and industrial drives. The compact connection arrangement targets low inductance and can support designs using silicon-carbide power devices. A system benefit still depends on the layout and the characteristics of the connected switching devices and capacitors.
Selection should address DC voltage, ripple current, capacitance, switching conditions, temperature and the mechanical envelope. Low inductance is not a substitute for checking voltage overshoot, capacitor heating or insulation requirements in the actual converter.
Use the CapLink product information to identify the assembly concept, then establish requirements for the specific design. Avoid assigning a universal power rating or lifetime to every configuration. Capacitor mounting and busbar connection geometry should remain controlled parts of the design documentation.
Selection and validation
For a project review, provide conductor geometry, connection locations, insulation clearances, voltage, current waveform and cooling conditions. Validate the complete assembly under its intended electrical, thermal and mechanical loads. A product-family description does not establish the rating of an individual busbar design.
